Due to Christmas Eve being a Friday evening we decided to dine out early this week, hence we lobbed at Elements on a Tuesday evening. As it turned out, Tuesday evening is Sri Lankan night, $19.95, all you can eat, including salads, hot meals and dessert.

None of us would have ordered these meals ordinarily, but we saw it all laid out in the bain marie and the delicious curry aromas were very alluring. Lamb curry, chicken curry, rice, fish and eggplant were on offer. We tried a bit of everything, then went back for seconds for the ones we liked in particular. A delicious meal, one that we all enjoyed immensely.

The salad bar had an interesting mixture of salads and accompaniments.

A traditional Sri Lankan pudding was on offer. The look of it didn't appeal to me, however, I'm glad I took the plunge and tasted it as it was absolutely delightful. They also had a traditional plum pudding, one that tasted very much like it was home cooked. They had a delicious syrup to complement the plum pudding. Lots of healthy fruit salad was also on offer.

One thing that impressed us was the professionalism of the staff. Chef kitted out in traditional  "chef wear." All the staff dressed smartly in their uniforms. All the staff were very pleasant and hospitable. Even the chef came out and spoke to us, asked us if we had enjoyed our meals. We were waited on like royalty.

Water served at the table and a strong, tasty cappuccino went down well with the meal.

We checked out their standard menu, some interesting meals to be had there and quite reasonably priced. They also offer children's meals, one of which is  roast, including vegetables. Well done!

There was only one thing that I didn't like - the number of flies hanging around the food. They really do need to find some way of covering the bain maries.

Elements is an open air restaurant, we were lucky on the night that it wasn't too hot. Plenty of fans overhead made it very comfortable.

This is a great place to eat. You can enjoy a swim in the pool, as long as you are spending your money either at the bar or in the restaurant. So far I can only vouch for the Sri Lankan food but I think you should  go and check it out, I'm positive you will be pleased.

Please keep in touch as next year from February we will be conducting "Chefs Table" which will encompass 4 courses of food with matched wine along with guest speakers. Again thank you, it makes me very happy that our team could be of service.

  2. The food was great, I put things on my plate that I would not normally try, testament to the delicious smells wafting from the bain marie. The meal was well priced, all you can eat? I was sooo well fed!!
The staff were great and answered all my queries about what each dish was and the ingredients used, suggesting dishes I should try, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
Wish i had been before, I think we just unearthed palmerstons greatest secret!!

  3. Maybe you could post the Chef's Table info on your site. I'm sure there would be others apart from me interested.

  4. Last night I took my mum to 'Elements' as I wannted her to try out their Sri Lankan night.
I was pleasantly surprised to be recognised and greeted as if i were a 'regular' even though it was only the second time i had been there!!
A new choice of curries made it a different but just as enjoyable experience as last time, and suggests there will always be something new to try if you go regularly.
this time I tried the salads, which i hadn't the last time.. a lovely dressed garden salad, a very tasty carrot salad and a fish salad, all were lovely and sported flavours that were new to me.
    The service was again fantastic.
    Another enjoyable experience.

  5. Never having been to Elements before I was a bit hesitant when I walked in and found that we wern't actually eating in the restaurant but rather in an outdoor area. Then I found out it was Sri Lankan night and thought hmmmmmmmm I wonder what that's like? I like curry but I'm not in love with it and was hoping for the best. I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed. I tried a little of everything in the bain marie, on the salad bar and at the desert bar. I even went back for seconds on two of the curries. I'm pleased that we went here as it gave me an opportunity to try a cuisine I might otherwise have not. At $19.50 it was most definitely excellent value. The staff are friendly and professional and are an absolute joy to interact with. Bravo Elements. I'll certainly be spreading the word.

  6. I went tonight after reading your blog, my kids chose the kids pasta and drink combo and at $9 each it was a great sized meal and I had a roast lamb dinner. I was so impressed it was beautifully presented and was so yummy and a bargain at $11.90. I will be going again as it was quick and friendly and my kids enjoyed it. I will be telling everyone
